Today Xiaomi India Has unveiled the Redmi 9, an entry-level affordable smartphone in the country. Although this is not a 100% successor to the Redmi 8 series, it is a nice phone with decent features. As expected, Redmi 9 is a rebranded version of the Redmi 9C, which was launched in Global markets a few weeks back.
Redmi 9 comes with a flaunting 6.53-inch LCD display with a waterdrop notch. Above all, it comes with a textured plastic back.
Redmi 9 is powered by an Helio G35 SoC from Mediatek which is a rebranded Mediatek Helio P35. The company claims that it is better than Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 that we saw in Redmi 8. It also runs in MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out of the box which is a good thing to see on a budget smartphone.

Furthermore, looking at the camera design it looks like a Quad camera but it has only a dual rear camera with 13MP primary sensor and 2MP depth sensor. In addition, Redmi 9 has a 5MP front camera.
Although Redmi 9 comes under the budget category, it packs a monstrous 5,000mAh battery. It comes with a traditional 10W charging.
